Finse
Finsehytta is a mountain lodge run by the Norwegian Trekking Association (DNT), situated at 1,223 metres above sea level on the high plateau between Hardangervidda and Skarvheimen. It is easily reached by train on the Bergen Railway, making it one of the more accessible alpine destinations in Norway. The lodge serves as a base for glacier walks, hut-to-hut routes, day hikes, and skiing along the historic Rallarvegen. Accommodation is available in the main lodge as well as Brebua, a self-service cabin on the same grounds that stays open when the main building is closed. Brebua has ten bedrooms, a communal kitchen, and a lounge, with four rooms set up for guests travelling with dogs. The lodge holds an environmental certification and is located in a wild reindeer area, so visitors are asked to show consideration for local wildlife.
