Herberg Kongeåen

Herberg Kongeåen is a small hostel set in a converted stable from 1897, located near the river Kongeåen in Rødding, just south of the historic Ancient Road (Hærvejen) in South Jutland. The hostel offers dormitory-style accommodation with 24 bunk beds, a shared kitchen, two bathrooms, and two toilets. Breakfast and frozen meals can be purchased from the host. The property sits within a nature-rich setting shaped by years of restoration work, attracting a variety of birdlife and trees. Nearby highlights include the Freedom Bridge and Freedom House, which relate to the area's history as a former Prussian border region. The hostel is well suited to walkers, cyclists, and horse riders travelling the Ancient Road, and paddocks are available for horses at an additional fee. No advance reservations are required. The nightly rate is DKK 150 per person.
