STF Rogen Fjällstuga

Location map

STF Rogen Fjällstuga is a remote mountain cabin run by the Swedish Tourist Association, located on a peninsula in Lake Rogen within Rogens naturreservat in southern Härjedalen, at around 760 metres above sea level. The cabin sleeps 18 guests in shared bunk-bed rooms with self-catering facilities, a small shop stocking provisions, and a sauna by the lake. There is no kitchen in the modern sense — guests use wood-burning stoves and gas cookers and are expected to chop wood and fetch their own water. The surrounding landscape is ideal for canoeing, fishing (Arctic char, trout, pike, and perch), hiking, and in winter, skiing. Bronze Age burial sites and ancient rock paintings have been found in the area. Marked summer and winter trails pass nearby. The cabin is reached on foot from Käringsjövallen, roughly 10 km away. Mobile coverage is very limited. Open late February to April and late June to September.
