STF Ljungdalen vandrarhem och badhus
STF Ljungdalen vandrarhem och badhus is a hostel set in a converted historic schoolhouse in Ljungdalen, a small mountain village in northwestern Härjedalen. The village sits at the gateway to the Helags massif, home to Sweden's southernmost glacier, where the road ends and the mountain wilderness begins. The hostel has 13 rooms with a total capacity of 26 to 50 beds, a shared self-catering kitchen, common room, sauna, and garden area alongside the Ljungan river. Cross-country ski trails, a ski slope, and a cable car are all within walking distance. The surrounding area is well suited for hiking, fishing, skiing, and wildlife watching, with chances to spot arctic fox and peregrine falcon. Ski, canoe, and mountain bike rental is available on site. Pets are welcome in designated rooms. Bus connections run to Åsarna, Östersund, and Funäsdalen, with a stop around 100 metres away at the local ICA store.
