STF Viterskalet Fjällstuga

STF Viterskalet Fjällstuga is a mountain cabin located along the Kungsleden trail between Ammarnäs and Hemavan, around 11 kilometres north of Hemavan in Storumans kommun. It sits in the middle of a broad U-shaped glacial valley cutting across the Storfjället mountain range. The cabin offers 32 beds spread across two buildings, with shared dormitory-style rooms of varying sizes sleeping 4 or 8 guests. Rooms are heated by wood stoves and equipped with bunk beds. Guests self-cater using the shared kitchen and are expected to chop wood, fetch water, and clean up after themselves. A hostel warden is on site. A small shop sells provisions and some outdoor gear. The area is well regarded for ski touring and telemark skiing in winter, with several summits accessible nearby. Pets are permitted in designated rooms. The cabin is open in winter and summer seasons only.
