STF Kaitumjaure Fjällstuga

STF Kaitumjaure Fjällstuga is a mountain cabin located on the Kungsleden trail between Nikkaluokta and Saltoluokta, in Gällivare municipality in northern Sweden. The cabin sits on a hillside overlooking the long, narrow lake of the same name, surrounded by steep mountain slopes. It offers 30 beds spread across two guest cabins, with shared self-catering kitchens, a drying room, sauna, and a small shop selling provisions. One cabin accommodates dogs. Accommodation is in multi-bed dorms ranging from 4 to 8 beds, with bunk beds and wood-burning stoves for heating. Guests are expected to chop firewood, fetch water, and clean up after themselves. A warden is on site. There is no mobile phone coverage. The hostel opens in late February for the winter season and again in mid-June for summer. Nearest trailheads are Vakkotavare and Nikkaluokta, roughly two to three days on foot.
