STF Vaisaluokta Fjällstuga is a remote mountain cabin situated on the southern shore of Lake Akkajaure in Jokkmokks kommun, within the UNESCO World Heritage area of Laponia. It lies along both the Nordkalottleden and Padjelantaleden trails, making it a natural stop for long-distance hikers. The cabin offers 20 beds across two ten-bed rooms with bunk beds and wood stoves for heating. Guests self-cater using the shared kitchen and are expected to chop wood, fetch water, and clean up after themselves. A staffed season runs late June to early September; one room remains open as an emergency shelter in winter. The surrounding area is home to Sámi summer settlements where you can sometimes buy freshly caught arctic char or whitefish. Fishing is also available a short distance from the cabin. The nearest access point is Ritsem, reachable by boat in summer.
